Main conditions that affect daily living: EDS Fibromyalgia Hashimotos Under active thyroid Spondyliothesis 6 slipped discs Heart arrhythmia Arthritis |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: I couldn’t walk and was immobile when I applied last time. I still didn’t get 4 for anything. No chance next time. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Everything from not being able to get out of bed for 3 hours in the morning, to needing a bed rail to get out of bed, to not being able to walk or shower or cook or shop. I have anywhere between 0-6 hours out of bed a day and I’m limited when I can get up. It changes daily. Today I have a dislocated shoulder, hip and knee joint. Yesterday it was my vertebrae that were partially dislocated. I’ve had extreme fatigue since December and need to sleep for at least 2/3 weeks days or I cannot function at all. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I would lose contribution based ESA and standard daily living for pip. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I’d be completely inconsistent all the time. Anything from dislocated joints to not being able to get out of bed due to fatigue. I can’t stand for more than a few minutes. I can’t sit for more than 30 minutes and need regular rest breaks all day (lying on a bed). I can’t do stairs. The last time I worked was 2019 and I couldn’t consistently manage 4hours work a week in blocks of one hour (I’m a therapist). Issues attending medical appointments. I had 3 today alone, at the gp, the hospital and the cottage hospital. That will wipe me out for the rest of the week now. |
Anything else to tell us: It costs me well over £1000 a month for disability aids, help, support and meds. Without this, I’d be severely disabled and bedridden 100% of the time and dependant on carers. It will cost the gov a lot more money. |
