Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Cooking, shopping, washing, getting around, communicating. Pain and fatigue mean that I am not only disabled (needing to use a wheelchair at times) but constantly ill. If someone coming out of an anaesthetic or with a bad dose of flu needs care, so do I. And if I don’t get help I get worse. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: 300 per 4 weeks of PIP (ie a third of my current monthly income); plus my status as disabled would be put into doubt so I could lose ESA or be forced to look for work which I am totally unfit to do. You don’t ask someone with a very bad dose of flu to work. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: It would be impossible to find work. No one could employ a person who is permanently ill. And I can’t work from home I self-employment for the same reason. My condition would deteriorate rapidly as I tried to work enough. My end state and need for support would be worse than it is now. |
