Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I have had help to write this from my carer. I struggle with all aspects of life, but I struggle most with feeding, dressing and addressing my hygiene needs. My PTSD gets badly activated when I have to be naked, and I already struggle with my autism to remember to dress or to know how to dress appropriately, so I need support throughout every aspect of showering and dressing myself. I got less than 4 points for these aspects because I can physically do them, but I need someone to talk me through and persuade/motivate me throughout. I also need support to engage in menstrual care. Before I got PIP and was without daily support, I would often be left covered in my own bodily fluids and wearing the same clothes for weeks, would barely eat, and was hospitalised more than once. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: Without PIP and the current rate of health top-up I would no longer qualify for the housing element nor would my carer receive carers allowance. Homelessness, hospitalisation or death due to being unable to care for myself are all real risks for me. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: Workplaces are not suitable for me. I need daily care to manage basics and my social skills are an area of immense struggle for me; I would need a carer to attend work with me and help me undertake every aspect of employment. I can have bouts of aggression and inappropriate behaviour that are not suitable for any workplace. I suspect if they tried to move me to work they simply would not find an employer able to accommodate these needs. |
Anything else to tell us: I had help to fill out this survey. Many vulnerable disable people who will be effected by this are people who cannot speak easily for themselves and the government is taking advantage of this. |
