Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: The way DWP review PIP it is highly unlikely that I would score 4 points. After being assessed by someone who had no idea regarding medical diagnosis and who missed out 8 years of my health problems, refused to accept the date I was diagnosed by my Consultant, totally missed out of there report 8 years of my medical history and then stated I had only just been diagnosed. I had to fight DWP to get all the information included in their report. How can you then genuinely get the correct 4 points needed when all the medical information you give is then down played. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I struggle day to day and need help with dressing, washing, taking medication, can no longer cook a simple meal due to constant pain and need help to do day to day tasks non disabled people take for granted. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I expect to lose at least half of my current income which would make it impossible for me to live. I would be unable to pay every day bills and buy food. I would have to rely on food banks Then what would be the point of being here. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I had to give up work due to my medical problems 12 years ago due to constant pain, unable to stand or sit for any length of time. I have decreased movement in my limbs and the constant pain causes extreme fatigue. I try to do things and just by trying can put me in bed for two days. Even with support from a work coach it would be impossible for me to move into work as this would make my health, mobility and pain worse causing more lost days in bed trying to recover with a progressive disease. |
Anything else to tell us: It constantly makes me feel as though the sick and disabled are an easy target and are classed as the lowest of the low. I can appreciate that some people would be able to do some work with help but some of us have always worked until our health through no fault of ours, will no longer let us carry on working or even doing simple day to day tasks without being in constant pain and having to rely on family to help. |
