Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Unless I gave changed in the next 3 yrs ( which is possible ) I won't. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I need Aids &/or Assistance with - Washing Dressing Preparing a Meal Going to the Toile I also can't walk 20m so get Enhanced Mobility. Because I manage sometimes with ( Aids ) ie sitting down and using devises and sometimes I can't so need help, I still get 2-3pts l. Thus us because I'm honest and say I CAN manage most time if I push myself ( in practice it's more likely I don',t but I COULD ). Certainly getting 3 pts when a PERSON HAS TO be there to help with a wash or shower, makes no sense. What has it not been 4 pts ? I do NOT want to be pushed into saying I need help all the time with all of the existing Activity. IF I can manage some of the time. I feel we're being forced to do this ( A lot of others do too. I worked in Benefits and advise on Benefts; lots feel this way Std Living replaced Low DLA for many of us and we feel this is the right Award for the level of help we need. Yet it now isn't . Apparently .). YET what's the alternative if we need a bit of help several times throughout the day to parts of the Activities. What if we start then struggle and a family member steps. This us real life. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I will lose PIP Living ( Std); then ESA WRAG ( old rate ) as that's going anyway; my partner loses ESA Support ( never claimed PIP, doesn't want to claim PIP ). We wouldn't get UC anyway. So, that's a LOSS of £343:05 a WEEK ( 25/26 Rates ) We'd just be left with my Mobility ( £77:05 ) and a small Occupational Pension. For a couple. Because we can't get UC. We've been abandoned. Or forced out of retirement back into work.... |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I'm not going back to work. Simple as that. Both myself and my partner are Ill Health Retired. That's it We've worked, we've cared full time, we've volunteered and we're disabled. This for over 40 years and we're done. No, nothing will help us "move into work". |
Anything else to tell us: They need to AT LEAST offer Transitional Protection to those who will lose PIP LIVING and ESA. They need to look again at the Points for the Physical Activities ( especially the ludicrous 3pts for Bathing when you need someone to wash you. It should be 4 pts already ). They need to LISTEN and then tell - - us older claimants how we're expected to live for at least 5 years with ( nearly ) no income. What work are we going to do ? - the younger ones ( under 22 ) how there not disabled and what work are they going to do ? When a government starts to single out the oldest, youngest and most vulnerable in society. To victimise them and let the blame at their door, it never ends well. It ends in hate and tyranny. |
