Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I struggle significantly with all activities of daily living everyday, but find it very hard to describe the cummulative effect of all the conditions impacting on each other, and the severe fluctuations in my ME/CFS symptoms. I am unable to do any task safely and to a reasonable standard repeatedly. If I have a shower one day then I cannot cook a meal or do another task the same day, etc etc. Every aspect of my life is a choice and I have to try and not over exert myself or it can take days or even weeks to get back to a base level of activity again, but sadly daily life is not like that and you cannot plan for every eventuality, an unexpected doctors appointment can throw my care off kilter for weeks. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: A minimum of £5,740.80 per year i.e. my whole Enhanced Daily Living component of PIP This would mean I would have to cut back on food, and heating and would no longer be able to afford to employ my cleaner which would make it even harder for me to manage at home. I want to remain as independent as I can be for as long as I can be but know that I will not be able to manage as I am for much longer even before the planned cuts. I am scared and frightened at the thought of the struggles ahead. I am already worrying about how to pay for essential repairs to my bathroom which is making it unsafe for me to shower. If I have to withdraw money from my pension to pay for it this in turn will give me less money to live on - its a vicious circle. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I am a state pensioner so I no longer need to work. I cannot foresee any emolyer being willing to employ me given my current state of health and the significant amount of time off I would need to attend and recover from essential medical appointments. |
Anything else to tell us: I feel I have lost out every way I turn recently : As a WASPI woman I have already lost in excess of £45,000 due to the impact of changes to my state pension entitlement I have lost my winter fuel allowance I have to pay more income tax on my pension If I made a claim for Attendance Allowance instead I would lose my Mobility Component of PIP Since my late husband passed away I am not eligible for any of his state pension even though he died before he could claim a penny of it himself, despite him having worked full time for over 35 years. We are being told that the cuts are to help us back into work but I am over retirement age and should not need to work. I have been given an indefinite award of PIP as my health continues to deteriorate and I live alone with no one to help me. Everything I do or need is more expensive due to my disabilities. |
