Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Showering especially my bottom half and washing my hair. Getting in and out of the shower due to arthritis in my feet, knee, spine , neck and hands . Dressing my bottom half and fastening buttons , zips and bra fastenings. Preparing food , cutting up veg and meat , using an oven . All this is because standing is very painful, due to rhumatoid arthritis in my feet . Pain in my lower spine and nerve damage from multiple herniated disks. I'm unsteady on my feet due to pain and often lose my balance . Pain in my neck and shoulders , with nerve pain from herniated disks and rhumatoid arthritis in my hands , makes using utensils, sometimes impossible. I can't bend to use the oven and only warm pre prepared food up, if someone in my household is unable to cook for me. I lose concentration and become distracted due to PTSD flashbacks . Anxiety can get so bad I can't function and depression makes me lose motivation to do anything. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I would lose my standard living element, and be at risk of losing LCWRA . I rely on this to pay for pre prepared food, paying somebody to do my ironing for me . And taxis which I rely on to get about. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: The sort of work I can do would be limited due to my ability to stand and lift and also sit for periods of time. Also travel to and from work as I don't drive and can't use public transport. I would need to use taxis |
Anything else to tell us: PIP doesn't take into consideration sleeping. I suffer from insomnia due to pain. And when I do sleep, I have nightmares, which wake me up , then give me panic attacks, which stop me from getting back to sleep. Tiredness affects my ability to cope with pain and my mental health . |
