Nickname: Hollywoodmam |
Age: 53 |
Main health condition: Both physical and mental health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: CRPS Fybromyalgia CFS Spinal Injury Dysphagia Oesophageal dismotility Bladder Retention Chronic PTSD |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Enhanced |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: I’ve had one review previously and despite declining health & need for increased care, my points stayed the same. For example I need help to shower & dress whole body but I scored 2 points |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: With having CRPS in my upper limbs, numbness post spinal injury and now need for a walking stick - I need help to make a drink in the morning & watched in case of choking. I then need help to get washed & dressed. Any food I eat needs prepared for me and again I need to be watched in case of choking. I don’t leave /unable to leave house alone need support with mobility and Chronic PTSD. I rely solely on my husband & 2 children who are my carers. I have adapted toilets & bathing facilities |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: By looking at what they are suggesting, I won’t get any PIP. I have these conditions from an assault at work so all this is not a choice - but forced upon me. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: Getting there Getting up & dressed Finding something I can do without the use of my arms where I could fit it in around my unreliable chronic pain cycles - Finding something where I could lie down for half the time for spinal support. Finding PTSD support for hyper vigilance & panic attacks Finding something where a carer can come & help me use the toilet. Somewhere where I can vomit with my high level of pain that my conditions cause |
Anything else to tell us: I haven’t chosen not to work, it was pushed on me after an assault at work. I lost my job - should have been able to take ill health but was denied - capability instead. My arms don’t co-ordinate are always in high levels of pain to which I have 14 medications to take a day including opioids. Working apart from alluding me now isn’t safe. If I leave the house for an hour - it takes 2-3 days to recover. |
