Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Washing and dressing takes forever as the pain is chronic. A lot of days, I’m not able to get out of bed. Cutting food is very painful. I can’t lift a kettle as it hurts so much, so cooking nutritious food is impossible. Toileting is also a challenge. Cleaning is impossible. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I will likely lose £73.90 per week which is over £3800 per year. This money allows me to pay a cleaner to do the housework. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I had to retire at 55 because of my condition. Prior to that I had various absences from work, had to go part time and struggled so badly with pain and exhaustion. It would be a nightmare for any employer to make reasonable adjustments for my condition as it fluctuates every day. |
Anything else to tell us: I feel so aggrieved that Labour are punishing the most vulnerable people in society. It’s cruel and shameful. |
