Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Aside from not being able to walk due to degenerative knee pain, I have very little use of my right arm due to fibromyalgia, which has been complicated by lack of mobility. It causes sever pain and I sustain muscle tears which affect the whole right side of my body and are debilitating. Sometimes I can't even move. I have severe pain if I attempt to do any manual tasks. It leaves me unable to even write a few words without being in agony. I am unable to cut up food myself. I am unable to kneel or bend my knees far and lose my balance if I can't hold onto something. Holding onto something with my right arm is difficult and unsafe. I struggle with washing and dressing, am unable to prepare food or cut up my food. I use a wheelchair and a stairlift.
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I would lose £3,842.80 per year, or approximately £320 - which is a significant amount of money each month when I need to pay for help and save for aids. Wheelchair batteries can cost over £400 and need replacing sometimes, and I also have breakdown insurance to pay and repair costs can be needed. Many living costs are higher as a result of not being able to do things myself. I also pay a policy to keep the stairlift working and maintained. Other items I regularly have to replace when they break are "picker uppers" (litter picker type gadgets). Heating bills are higher as I am at home so much. Additionally I need to save some every month to try and pay for essential adaptations to the house. I recently spent about £200 on threshold ramps, which can wear out.
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: Even though I am at retirement age, I would like to have an occupation and earn, but without the use of my right arm I don't think I'm employable. If I compensate with my left arm, that also gets worse. My right arm is worse because I'm right handed.
