Nickname: ForHeaven'sSake
Age: 58
Main health condition: Physical health
Main conditions that affect daily living: Arthritis, degenerative disc disease, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, psoriasis, scoliosis, prolapse.
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard
4 point descriptor score: No
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Not sure.
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Great tiredness and pain, even impacts ability to sit upright at home. I struggle with light too, so hard to read or use computer. Dressing, bathing, cooking, walking around are slow and painful. There is also a lot of torn cartilage or tendonitis across multiple joints, so all movements are sore. My ability to go out and mix is very limited.
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: About £9k a year. My next PIP review should be around age 62. I have no chance of paying my private rent on the remaining money. I will be unemployable. And I find there are now multiple cost-cutting measures in place at GP surgeries or in NICE guidance, so I have to buy painkillers and remedies out of my own pocket. I get 10 points for mobility, but it's a pittance in terms of the transport help needed.
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I cannot work full-time. I get a tiny amount of money from making youtube videos, but cannot manage more than 10 hours a week. I lay on my tummy on the floor to edit. Continence is also an issue, which is unpredictable and very personal. I would be most upset if I had to discuss this with strangers or potential employers.
