Submission ID: 1162047

Nickname: Cassie
Age: 45-55
Main health condition: Physical health
Main conditions that affect daily living: Arthritis, MECFS, Cough Hypersensitivity Syndrome,
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard
4 point descriptor score: No
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: I haven't before, so unlikely.
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: All every day tasks such as washing, dressing & cooking are difficult due to pain & severe energy limitation e.g. i can't manage a shower more than once a week (using a shower stool) & i need bed rest following it. I need to use food delivery services for meals regularly. Communication is also difficult due to chronic cough condition triggered by speaking - I can't get through a sentence without coughing.
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I currently get LCWRA & PIP & so if PIP becomes the gateway to LCWRA & 4 points is needed, I will lose around £8777 a year which is the majority of my income. (based on March 25 rates & not including loss of other gateway benefits such as council tax & water reduction). I won't be able to pay my rent & bills, so it's very possible I could become homeless.
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I can't work. I wish I could, I had a great life & loved my work before getting ill. I would not be able to sustain employment with my current conditions 2 of which have no cure or effective treatment. What employer would want to employ someone who would have to work from home, take frequent & last minute time off, frequent bed rest, could not guarantee if/when tasks could be completed, would cough through any meetings, phone calls, interviews etc?
