Nickname: Nix
Age: 54
Main health condition: Physical health
Main conditions that affect daily living: ME, Fibromyalgia, hypermobility spectrum disorder, POTS
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard
4 point descriptor score: No
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Probably not likely
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Some days I struggle to even get out of bed. Even on a good day I struggle to : prepare food, bath or shower, wash hair, do shopping, any cleaning, socialising. I struggle to cope with appointments either physical or online, phone calls.
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I would lose the standard daily living amount (sorry can't remember the exact amount, I think about 400?)
And I would lose the ill health element of universal credit.
My husband would lose both of these too.
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I have an energy limiting illness. Doing too much leads to an exacerbation of my many symptoms leaving my bed bound.
At present I spend over 85% of my day in bed, including 3 timed rests in the dark of at least an hour, and I rely on my family to help me.
Anything else to tell us: I am living in terror and having sleepless nights about this. If both my husband an I lose our PIP and part of UC, we would nt be able to pay our bills and eat. Let alone pay for supplements and therapies that help our quality of life. We are barely managing as we are.
