Sadly, no-one is automatically entitled to an award of PIP when they are invited to claim it to replace their current DLA. Everyone is assessed using the points system for PIP to decide whether they get an award and, if so, which components and at what rates.
However, that doesn’t mean that everyone has to go for a face-to-face medical assessment. The DWP say that “people with the most severe health conditions or disabilities, or those who are terminally ill” are unlikely to have to attend a face-to-face medical assessment.
