A housing association in Teesside has issued a warning to tenants about universal credit fraud scammers who are going door-to-door offering bogus loans to tenants.

Housing group Thirteen manages 34,000 homes in the North East.

It has warned that fraudsters are knocking on doors claiming to be from a loan company

The fraudsters talk people into handing over their personal details which they then use to make a claim for UC and pocket the advance payment.
