Motions in support of DLA and AA have now been placed before both the Scottish and Welsh assemblies, but still nothing similar has been tabled by MPs at Westminster.
As we reported last month, a motion has been put before the Scottish parliament by Scottish National Party MP Bill Kidd calling for attendance allowance to be protected and supporting ‘the retention of attendance allowance and disability living allowance as benefits which allow disabled persons to retain financial independence.’ That motion has now attracted over 20 signatures from MSPs.

A similar written statement of opinion has now been tabled before the Welsh assembly by Plaid Cymru members Leanne Wood and Bethan Jenkins.
Campaigners are still waiting, however, for any sign that Westminster MPs of any party are prepared to offer similar support by tabling an early day motion.
