Benefits and Work is receiving numerous emails and comments from claimants whose PIP payment has failed to go into their bank account today. 

“I woke this morning my money did go in my bank 1st time ever since 2016 , I am trying to call them since 9 am machine comes on as I think I will go through to someone it just cuts off ridiculous.”

 “Trying to call due to missing a payment and I get through to the options, once selected I get cut off or a dial tone. I've attempted about 8 times currently.”

 “My payment never went into my bank. Tried a number of times without success. After several attempts a auto message stated that "some claimants (which probably means thousands)have not received their payments today and they are investigating". Hope they sort it out soon.”

It appears that there has been some sort of software issue and it is unlikely at this stage that phoning the PIP enquiry line is going to make any difference. 

We’ll post updates on this page when we hear anything more and, if anyone whose payment didn’t go in as expected does subsequently receive it, please post a comment below.

UPDATE TUESDAY 6 DECEMBER
Still no official announcement from the DWP about what has gone wrong and whether the problem has now been fixed.  But we are hearing from people whose payments have now been made, so it's probably worth phoning the PIP enquiry line if yours hasn't - assuming you can ever get through.

    Automated message says keep checking the bank if not received by tomorrow then call them if you can get through to them,  absolute shambles no heating on and it's freezing

    I find it discustign that they haven't sent out any text or email to anyone who obviously desperate for their payment

    I was told when I rang this morning that it could go in anytime between 10am and midnight. Not helpful when yòu have direct debits due òut on same day !

    Still no money has no ot got in.  I Phoned PIP today they say the money will be into our accounts later today. Or if you still don't get the money to phone PIp tomorrow.

    Still nothing, keep getting cut off from phone, my mum is extremely stressed and suffers from epilepsy, this isn't fair on anyone waiting to get their pip. Yet again the system fails us

    Haven't had payment phoned 25 times and only got through once and was told it would be in by this afternoon still ain't in I need my money for gas electricity and my bills

    Still no pip.  Yet there will be no repercussions for their failing to maintain the integrity of the systems.  We see benefits for the most vulnerable cut to the bone (And half the time through the bone) but they cannot keep the systems operational?

    People paying in twitter that they were been told it might not go in this week, will mean I can’t get son to college and incur ££ in bounced dd fees

    I am in the same boat. Rang 6 times got cut off. told to ring at 11am for update. Then told to ring at 2pm for an update . I noticed this last night as funds are usually available around 11.30pm . Like others i have been up all night worrying. This has put my anxiety through the roof. We definetely are returning to the dark ages. Would be nice if DWP made an announcement to what is happening.

    No pip payment today and when I spoke to someone they said that there is a national problem and to contact my bank so I did and my bank says it's the dwps bank that has the issue as no payment was issued to my account. My monthly bills are due today aswell so now I've been put into my unarranged overdraft. Impact my banks credit score. I think it is absolutely disgusting how the DWP treat disabled people at the best of the time now they stump this low especially when we all living through the cost of living
