Fears of another DWP mess are growing as Benefits and Work members tell us that they have not received a PIP review form or a further extension of their PIP award.

The claimants are all within six months of the end of their PIP award and would normally expect to have received an AR1 review form.

One member, posting on the forum, told us that their PIP was due to end in January but they had not received a review form.

On the moderator’s advice they contacted the DWP and were told that if they had not done so their PIP would have stopped in January, as there was nothing on the system to say a review form should be sent out.

Another member in the same position also rang the DWP. Within a week they had received a review form which needed to be returned within a month.

One member whose claim is due to stop at the end of January phoned to ask when they could expect a review form.

The advisor told them it was a good job they had called because they seemed to have been overlooked. They said that a form would be sent out in the next few days.

Yet another member in the same position was asked to wait a few more weeks to see if the form was sent out, but when they objected that this would give them less time to return it and have a decision made, the DWP agreed to send the review form out.

In some cases, even when our member has called and been told that form will now be sent out, they are still waiting for it to arrive.

It may be that the DWP will make further extensions of PIP awards in the coming weeks and months. But there is concern that there is a growing element of chaos in the department.

Anyone who is within six months of their award ending and who wishes to be sent a review form should consider contacting the DWP to ask for one to be sent out and keep a record of the time and date of the call.

We would be interested to her from anyone else who has not received an expected PIP form.

I was not sent review firms because the Courts made the award. I've only just spotted this and disentangled their error.

I'll have to wait months for a decision and award. I've been suicidal and have mild nerve damage in my brain and ear.

Hopefully, CAB will help me fill the review form the are now sending with 5 weeks to go before my benefits end.

Same thing has happened to me I rang PIP up last week to update my contact number and whilst I was on the phone asked about my review cause hadn’t heard anything was told that I was due for a review and that they had sent forms out on 9th December 2022 but I never received these otherwise wouldn’t of asked when I rang they told me they would send them out again and in March 2023 should be asked to go for an assessment but yesturday 10th Feb 2023 I received a text for a telephone assessment happening on the 17th Feb 2023 my stress and anxiety are through the roof now as I still haven’t received any forms and I no longer have any support as I lost my support worker cause she was only temporary due to being a housing support worker so I’m surly going to fail this assessment as they will think I didn’t bother to send the forms back if I had received them in the first place would of sent them back don’t know what’s going to happen and I’m dreading it especially now with the cost of living crisis it’s going to leave me in a right mess my PIP isn’t due to run out until August 2023 can they stop it early ?

Exactly this happened to me! I claim PIP for bipolar disorder/psychosis and was quite unwell for the five months from July to September 2021. However not so unwell I wouldn’t have noticed a review letter. My PIP was abruptly stopped in October. I was delusional so did not immediately act. Finally with help I made a new claim in December. This would never have happened in the days of DLA. I am living on a small overdraft and the occasional handout from my elderly mother. Not happy at all. It’s been what, 12 weeks and now I read that it’s taking an average of 4 months but could be longer. I am having to pay energy bills that have gone up a lot, and everything else, bedroom tax food etc on basic benefit of £131 pw. 😕
