Benefits and Work would like to know what difference getting disability living allowance (DLA) has made to your life.  We’re offering a prize of a £20 Amazon voucher and a year’s free membership of the site for the best response, along with a year’s free membership for two runners up.

We want to encourage people to make a claim for DLA if they are potentially eligible.  One way of doing that is by telling them how it could improve their life.

So, we’d like to hear what difference getting DLA has made to you.  Are there things you can do now that you couldn’t do before?  Can you afford occasional treats or does it just make it easier to pay the regular bills?  Can you get out more?  Afford medication or supplements that make a real difference to your health?  Has getting DLA led to increases in other benefits?  Was it worth the struggle to claim it?

So as not to exclude people who have had their award taken away, we’d also like to hear what a difference losing your DLA has made, if that’s what’s happened to you.

You don’t need to write a lot: anywhere from a few sentences to a maximum of 200 words is fine.
