Below is an update on some of the growing number of campaigns against the cuts that are taking place on and offline.

Marches and lobbies
There’s an account of the National Day of Protest Against Benefits Cuts which took place on 24 January:

There’s a mass lobby of parliament on February 15th to protest against cuts to housing benefit and increases in rent for social housing:

A week of resistance against the cuts, which apparently includes a visit to George Osborne’s home, begins on 14th February.

The national demonstration against the cuts is still due to take place on 26th March in London.

Disability Living Allowance
You can ask your MP to sign the early day motion criticising the consultation process for the proposed abolition of DLA (28 signatories so far).

The petition against the abolition of DLA has so far received just 4063 signature – perhaps petition fatigue has set in.

Legal aid
Justice for All are asking people to take part in their Love Legal Aid campaign by doing things like writing about how legal aid helped you before the consultation on legal aid changes ends on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.

Birmingham CAB
There’s an online petition which has been launched as part of a campaign to try to save Birmingham citizens advice bureau.

There’s also an early day motion condemning the closure of Birmingham CAB which you can ask your MP to sign.
