ESA and Income Support Topup was created by stagpole
I have just recently applied for and Income Support Topup to my IB (£89pw)and was successful, getting my claim back dated. I have just been transferred to ESA and placed in the Support Group without any telephone calls or medical, My question is do I now lose my Topup (£71pw) and be reduced to £99pw? I am also on DLA higher care and low mobility. This is a reduction from £160 to £99 per week. :(

It is possible to receive Contribution Based ESA and Income Related ESA at the same time if you are on a low income, but you really need to check with the DWP as to what you will be receiving as the Trnsitional Protection rules are quite complicated.

They should send you a full breakdown of your payments anyway, but it can take some time to arrive, however, they can give you this information over the phone.

Your DLA should not be affected by any of these changes.
