Carers allowance/pension credit was created by lulu
Hi there, my mum applied for Carers allowance and she got a letter today to say she does not get this as she has a state pension. It also says she may be entitled to a pension credit but nothing to say how she should go about this. Could anybody give me any idea what is reqwuired in order she gets this credit or whatever it is called, thanks ;)

If your Mum rings the Pensions Service number that pays her state pension ( or you can do it for her, but your Mum will have to give her permission) they will explain things in full, and if your Mum qualifies for Pension Credit, they can calculate it for her
and take the claim on the 'phone.
