im currently appealing a esa decision and so im sending in sick notes I was due to get paid this week and i didn't so i phoned up and was told me sick note had ran out 10 days earlier
Its took me 3 days to get an appointment at my doctors and i have one this afternoon.
if i get my sick note backdated will they pay me my esa from the point my last one ran out? the person on the phone was not very helpfull they said there where unsure of what happends but to just send in the sicknote asap.

Hi Jox
If you obtain a sick note as soon as possible and ask you GP to backdate it your ESA payments should continue from the date that your last payment covers.

you should have been notified in writing from the DWP that your sick note was about to run out. If you did not receive a letter from them then I personally would be asking them why.

In the past i have always had reminder letters that also included an envelope to send the sick notes in but i have not received one.
also mine ran out on the 1st on june i got paid last on the 13th. so not only did they not send a reminded but they have not wrote to me to its ran out.
I should have kept a note myself but im still surprised they have not contacted me in any way. i have just got a sick note from my gp backdated so will post that off today

They notify you in writing but give about two days notice. Given that it can take a week to get an appointment, I don't know why they bother.

May I ask how this sick note process works? When It's my turn to appeal it takes on average two and a half weeks each time to get to see any of the doctors in my surgery. They sued to do a walk in service and that stopped last year.
How do people manage? Do you have to visit your GP and get a sick note every week?
