Help have read that DLA is moving to the other thing ! My son is 15 and has autism was awarded mid care and lows for getting around, but my question is he has the award up to dec 2015 but will we have to be changed over to the new claim or will he stay on this old scheme DLA until it runs out? Or will he just be transfered automatically over to the new scheme? Help really worried only started claiming a year ago after someone asked me if i was claiming and when i told them no they told me i should of claimed from the start when he was first diagnosed (7 years old).
Having been awarded DLA until a particular date will not of itself exempt him from being transferred to PIPP earlier, but we do not yet have information on the sequence in which people will be transferred from DLA to PIP (and going by the information we have had in relation to the IB to ESA migration, we may never be sure exactly what sequence people will be migrated in).
