Work and coming off IB. was created by david57
I would like to try a job i have been offered working with computers by some one i know who is setting up a new busness.

I am on IB which runs out in july so i believe i will be transfured ESA anytime after that.
I am also on DLA hrm -lrc.
None of what i would be doing would conflicked with my disablity.

How do i go about giving this job a try.
Would i need to go to my doctor to be signed off or what.
What are the rules.

And what happens if i try this job and fail due to incressing ill health.
Would i have to go through the whole process of applying again.

You need to consider what to do very carefully.

Depending on your capabilities, you can either return to work, having closed your IB claim or request permission from the DWP to be allowed to do Permitted Work.

Permitted Work is explained in more detail in the associated guide which is in the Work section of the Members area.

If you want to return to work then you need to be aware of the following.

Due to the Transfer of IB claimants to ESA, the IB linking rules have been rescinded, this means that should you return to work and find that you are unable to cope, that you will be unable to reclaim IB and will have to make a new claim for ESA, losing any Transitional Protection you may have had as a result of being moved to ESA as part of the migration.

Now this is of course not a reason to return to work, but you consider your options carefully before making a decision.
