hospital and ib was created by bal42
Hi
Is reporting of few days(6) stay in hospital to jcp treated as change of circumstances and triggers medical review for ib claim, or is it used for other reasons.
To save oneself from stress of claim review, what is best way it should be done I.e.
Explain reasons of admision in hospital and treatment received treatment outcome and send any hospital report copies related to to the hospital stay.
Or just write simply in one sentence, hospital admission date and discharge date.
any experience or advice please. -- thanks

Hi,
Going into hospital for a few days won't trigger a review. You need to inform JCP because some benefits stop after being in hospital for a certain time; this varies according to which benefit(s) you claim.
See Hospital stays and your benefits This should explain things.
Of course if a certain benefit stops because of a hospital stay, it starts again on discharge, you don't need to make a new claim.
Good luck.

Many thanks pat
So if I write to JCP –I was in hospital from say march 16 to march 21. Would this be sufficient or I need to also add, for what treatment I was in hospital and do I need to send any proof of admission /discharge and the details of hospital.

Yes, you only need to include the dates you were an in-patient. However, no harm in adding what you were in hospital for if you wish.
