ESA 12 month time limiting

ESA 12 month time limiting was created by DRAGON2009
As I correct in saying that the welfare reform legislation concerning time limiting contributory based ESA has not yet been passed through Parliament.

Also are there any positive signs regarding this proposal and any potential changes to it ? I ask this part because given some Government wobbles recently concerning aspects of housing benefit, the opinion of many economists that recovery is going to be somewhat if not considerably delayed, and the imminent U turn on the health reforms

On the other hand given that Ed Milliband stated he wants Labour to be the 'party of the grafters' that does not bode well. Labour at least are not likely to make much of a challenge to the ESA time limiting

Anyone know anything ?

Hi Xfactor

The Bill has reached the report stage but I'm afraid I gave up trying to follow it's progress a long time ago; I'll wait until it's finalised.

As far as I know some MPs are still opposed to the one year time limit and the Bill is still to pass through the House of Lords. You can read through the debates and amendments if you have a few days spare!

Considering ESA was a New Labour program, i don't see why anyone would be surprised they aren't jumping up and down for its revision or removal.

There are three main parties. Tory, tory or tory. Take your pick.
