Thankyou v much Chris... I have just posted to ask that very question ha ha!... I think it would be hard to bring me below middle rate DLA before PiP comes in so I'm trying to optimistically work out how much I might receive up until then...
best wishes...

Hi Gordon.. thanks very much... does this mean that as long as I'm put in the WRAG they can't take my premiums & IS until either universal credit comes in or reassessed for my DLA when they may force me into a lower group???

I'm sorry but I can't answer you difinitively as there are too many variables. My previous answers were related to your potentially appealing, and that doing so would not affect any benefits you were receiving at that time.

You need to get face to face advice from your local CAB or Welfare Rights as to your continued eligibility to the premiums you mention and more importantly what monies you would receive after a transfer to ESA.

Hi feeling desperate

modedit: I feel obliged to make you aware that Chris cannot be aware of all the issues associated with your claim. You should get advice from an appropriate advisor. Gordon

If you were to transfer to ESA now (with your DLA passport premiums for higher rate care in place) and be put in the support group you are likely to receive ESA of approx £170.00 per week.

If you are placed in the WRAG group this would be reduced to approx £165.00 per week.

Should you be re-assessed to medium DLA care rate then you would loose the enhanced disability rate of £14.05 per week.

I hope this helps and makes sense. I have taken the figures from the DWP published benefit rates for 2011.

Cheers for now

Chris
