ESA -carers allowance. was created by jack2121
Hi, My wife is currently on DLA hrc, lrm. and also IB. I have been her carer, since 1993 due to her epilepsy.
If she ends up in the WRAG group will this affect my entitlement to carers allowance? Also when she attends the work focused interviews would i as her long time carer, be allowed to be with her? she has never ventured out alone for over 28 yrs, and has no other family. We can`t accept she would willingly have to put herself in danger, by having to go out alone. Why should she. She has suffered many injuries over the years. This can not be right.
Any advise welcome, thanks.

Carer's Allowance is the result of your wifes DLA, so there will be no effect on your receiving CA when she is moved to ESA as long as she continues to receive HRC or MRC.

Yes, you can accompany her to the WFIs, she is entitled to have a companion.

Thank you Gordon.
I understood regarding DLA- carers allowance. Just wondered which tricks they were pulling next. Still don`t understand how my wife could, after(28yrs)of being accompanied at all times, be asked to suddenly buck up and become independant. It is really worrying her.
Thanks again.
