Hi. I have been on IB now for 4 years and have just received a letter from DWP. It is telling me that a Jobcentre Plus Service Interview has been arranged for me for next Friday.
It says that I was previously seen some time ago and it is important that I attend now and participate in the interview. If I do not my benefit may be affected.
The point is I have NEVER been seen before, I have been signed off sick and have retired from my employment on grounds of ill health.
Do I have to attend this interview? Why are they asking to see me without my having been assessed for migration to ESA? Is this their first step in the migration process?
As you can tell I am both confused and very worried...
Sounds like you have been "invited" to attend a Work Focussed Interview, attendance is mandatory unless you can show you are too ill to attend in which case it can be deferred or even cancelled.
WFIs are part of the IB process as well as the ESA one, so there is no requirement for you to be transferred.
You can read about WFIs and your responsibilties in the relevant guide which can be found in the Work section of the Members area.
If you have further questions, please come back to the forums.
