ESA support group was created by kefkat
I have recently helped a friend to claim and fill in his ESA form. He has mental health issues excaberated by his misue of alcohol up to last June when he got sober with A.A. Before that time he was in and out of hospital and lurching from one benefit to another in a merry go round as half the time he wasn't fit to do work. His claims for I.B and then ESA were always turned down and his last ESA claim he was out of hospital just 2 days and a wreck. He had gone back on jobseekers and they stopped his money because he didn't apply for a job in a pub on his Dr's instructions. I helped him to ge this sorted and he finally had a medical 3 weeks ago which I went with him too as I am also a long term memeber of A.A. The woman he seen he had seen before and she was lovely, respectful and asked me questions too as I explained who I was and why I was their.
He has finally passed his medical and expected to be put on to pathway to work group and we were shocked to find they had put him in the support group though pleasantly surprised.
This gives him time now to sort himself out properly and eventually go to college and retrain and make something of his life. If only all the ATOS workers and decision makers were as good we wouldn't have a system in such a mess.
I just wanted to share with you some good news and to encourage all of you to cointinue fighting and not give up for those in appeals as me and my Hub once were also and it finally sorted in our favour. I enjoy being able to print any good news I know about because we don't get too much of it
