is esa a long term benefit like JSA is to help people back into work or is it one of those short benefits that last for like 6 months like statuary sick pay or maternity leave etc.
i havnt recieved my medical form or watever it is through the post i dnt even know what it looksl ike or whats inside it

Once you have been found elgible, you will continue to receive until you fail the medical test.
There will be one exception to this. If you receive Contribution Based ESA and are in the WRAG, not the Support Group, then you will only do so for a year from the date you are awarded the benefit, after this time, you will be moved onto Income Based ESA, providing you meet the associated means test.

and what happenss if i dnt meet any of this criteria will i have no benefits cos i need benefits to survive and how do u fail a medical tesst,and i wont be moved onto income based esa as i do not have a job

Get it out of your head Mike, that ESA is designed to "help people back into work, it really isn't.
At my last six month review several weeks ago, apart from trying to bully me into applying to work in the local Poundland and saying i displayed a "negative attitude, they did next to nothing else that could be described as productive.

Politicians have branded ESA as a temporary benefit for people with minor illnesses. Unless they can make sickness itself a temporary problem, it will always be a long term benefit for some.

well like i said i have 2 long term ilnesses autism and epilepsy and chronic depression as i have been diagnosed with it ok thats 3 and the only problem that can be cured is self harm but ya know im far from fit for work in my mind, psyically im able to do certain things i do have joint problems in my knees though
