I have just received a letter telling me that I will not receive any DLA at renewal. I used to get HRM and MRC for about 6 years. My conditions, their symptoms and the way they affect me have not changed significantly, but my diagnosis of the cause has. In some ways I am now worse off as the new diagnosis is a relatively rare, incurable condition, with not very effective treatment.
I would like to appeal, but I am worried that if I tell them that my condition is largely unchanged they might decide that I wasn't entitled to it before and prosecute me as a cheat. Does anyone know anything about this possibility or have any experience of it?
