Hi, i am in the middle of filling in a DLA renewal form for my 20 year old daughter, she has been receiving DLA for 6 years due to chronic social phobia, anxiety, depression she also have really bad eczema and asthma, her health is very much the same as when the last form was done 2 years ago however i have managed to get her a part time job in a shop working with my friend, she mainly cleans back shop & make teas ect having a job is more to help her keep in a routine, motivate her, we also plan ahead to minimize problems. My question is do i mention the in the form of the problems she faces everyday while working?
It's not necessary to mention how she copes with work, since DLA isn't for help with work, but DLA isn't incompatible with working, so there may be aspects of how she copes with work that would be relevant.
To take a random example, let us suppose that you are saying on her application that she needs supervision most of the time because she is at risk of hurting herself, then it would be relevant if she needs to work somewhwere where her colleagues at work keep an eye on her and ensure that she isn't left alone for long.
This is just one example, and there may be factors in relation to her work that are more relevant to the problems she has that give rise to the needs she has.
Remember, though, that whether or not she can work is not of itself relevant to DLA.
