Hi dave
Yes dave its the lump which hit my bank account 3 days ago that i am worried about
there is some ruling on lump sums and benefits I think that for some benefits they ignor it for 12 months but for council tax it might have an instant affect over a period of time i think you need to speak to a benefits expert
to start with look at the councils webs site and see what they take off you for being over your not alot over and after a period of time you will be back to getting full benefit as you spend the money

Quick back of the fag packet Calculation
With my IB + Pension = £125 a week means tested benefit.
The threshold for full council tax benefit is £139 a week for a single person my age
So i am Ok on that front.
When the full Documentation comes through from the SPVA i will contact the council about the Lump sum

Regretfully, our War Pensions expert, Pete has only recently been discharged
from hospital so currently isn't online.
Unless we have a member(s) who have personal experience of War Pensions, then my advice would be to contact an agency that can give you definitive advice.
For example Veterans' benefits and pensions

I spoke to DWP regards the fact the likes of you and me get IB (or some of it) I asked what happens when they give us ESA as you cant have ESA with unsupp or lower standard they came back to me 48 hours later and even though people now cant have both we should get esa if awarded under the ruleing people cant be worse off after moving or IB stopping
are you dealing with scotland office or crawley ? for this new pension
