See CPAG benefits book p119.

"You must make your claim and be sufficiently disabled to qualify before the date of your 65th birthday, but you need not have completed the three-month qualifying period by then.

Although you must normally be under 65 to claim, once DLA is awarded it can be paid beyond the age of 65. However, if your condition changes after you reach the age of 65, you cannot qulify for either rate of mobiliyt component of the lower rate care component for the first time. "

I can endorse this information as being entirely correct, as I have also referred to page 119 of the CPAG benefits handbook.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Survivor, I remember a few months ago Jima1 giving the same advice that you state. If you are on DLA before the age of 65 and your mobility or care needs are still the same then you carry on claiming DLA. If you need help after the age of 65(and you were not on DLA) Then you can submit a claim for AA although AA has no Mobility aspect to it. Best Wishes
