can HRM still be granted if person can walk unaided ie.no sticks,crutches.but still meets all criteria

Hi Ginger. Yes, If you look through the DLA guides on this site you will find all the relevant information there. People with chest /Breathing difficulties etc have had awards of HRM. but please see the guides. Best Wishes

thanks for reply but the problem i have is my wife has extreme feet condition but been instructed by physio using walking aid will compound her problems so shes attempting to walk unassisted.

The criteria for DLA HRM is on Patient UK as well as in the guides in the members section.

i,m so confused.i,ve found criteria for HRM and my wife fullfills the virtually unable to walk.However does v.u.t.w.mean you must need a walking aid for the distances you can do.She has been instructed by her physio not to use stick because it will compound her existing problems.her problems are feet and leg associated.her problems are present with or without stick

When i was awarded DLA at HRM and MRC back in 2007 i didn't use any walking aids but now use an elbow crutch.
Being "virtually unable to walk" does not have to be as severe as it sounds i believe.
