www.direct.gov.uk/en/CaringForSomeone/Mo...llowance/DG_10012525 Bearing in mind your age, you cannot receive State Pension and Carers Allowance together as they are classed as overlapping benefits. However it may allow an 'underlying right' to Carers Allowance which could affect any means tested benefits claimed.
You must satify the conditions given in the links above, but it should not involve the carer having an ATOS medical.
