DLA new application v renewal?

I've been receiving DLA at the higher rate for mobility and lower rate for the care component, for the past 2 years and my award is due to end in Feb 2011. I've just received a new application pack rather than a 'renewal' and wondered if this was usual, having never renewed before? Should I call DWP to ask for a renewal pack in preference or does everyone have to complete a full application again at renewal? Any advice would be gratefully received, thank you

its the same form they treat it as a new claim so make sure you send copies of everything you sent last time plus copies of all new reports you have
just becasue you got certain rates last time ..... there is no saying what if anything they will award this time

Sorry if I am telling you somthing you already know, but be careful with the short form and read the advice on the site about how to complete it and what else to do, the short form gives them more opotunatey to give you nothing.
