I have just received a letter informing me an appointment has been made for a home medical.
I have looked on the members site for info on how to prepare for this ( I know some people find this has caused problems and not helped)so I thought help on how to deal with the DR, check what has been written etc.
I may have not been looking in the right place, but a nudge in the right direction would be greatfuly recieved.
Kind regards

Hi,
Please do remember that on forums such as this, by its very nature, you will read about cases where people have had problems with medicals. However do please bear in mind that these are only a small minority of cases in proportion to the actual number of medicals carried out every day, where people have had no problems what so ever.
Although not in connection with Disability Living Allowance, I had a home medical with a Doctor from Atos late last year. The Doctor could not have been a nicer chap. He was very thorough in the medical (the report he submitted was also very accurate), friendly, polite and once the medical part was over, spent about another 30 minutes chatting about flying as during the conversation it turned out, that like me he held a private pilots licence(albeit mine nowadays has various restrictions imposed due to my disability).
So you see, there are good and bad
Examining Medical Practitioners, although on this type of forum it is generally only the bad ones that get reported on.

Yes -when I eventually had someone visit[ A retired Dr], he was very helpful, considerate and compassionate, He stayed for nearly an hour , gave a full examination, discussed my ailments and causes, much of which he had never come across, Hence, the time he spent with his assessment...
Im happy to report some good news , that there are such folk who do a thorough undertaking
