After waiting what seems like an eternity after I had my atos medical in June I finally got the letter telling me that I am to be moved into the work related activity group and will now receive the higher rate esa as well as the arrears owed from May.
I am sure that without the wonderful professional advice on this site about how to fill in the initial esa50 form and how to best prepare for the atos medical I certainly would have failed. My sister came with me to this medical (I usually go alone)and she took down notes of everything asked and my responses in case we had to appeal.
I would advise anyone having to go to a medical to do the same and also to read the pdf guides 'esa physical' and the 'esa handbook' which is the one the actual atos 'doctors' use. Both of these I found to be very helpful and definitely gave me the advantage. Once again thankyou.
