Hi, Just a very quick question, has anyone experienced a letter arriving the day before to say that a Dr from the medical services will be visiting to carry out a medical examination.
In febuary of this year i was awarded lower rate care and nothing for mobility although my condition had deteriorated, unhappy with this decision i asked for an appeal;3 months later instead of getting a hearing date i recieve a letter saying that a medical Dr will be visiting me. Could somebody please shed some light as to what the reason may be for this as im totally confused.
As part of the reconnsideration process prior to appeal the DWP must have decided to send an EMP out to assess you. Look on this for the time being as apositive and not a negative, at least they are still considering.
It seems strange not to give you longer warning of the visit, unless they phoned you up beforehand and they are just confirming it..It should be 7 days in writing. You won't have time to prepare for your visit properly or arrange having someone with you. Mind you, if the report goes against you, you can use this abuse of process to help discredit the report. Otherwise it is probably as Kathy1 says above and thank goodness you won't be on edge longer than necessary waiting for them to call. Let us know what happens..
