Can anyone advise? I'm claiming Incapacity Benefit - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Industrial Injury Benefit for PTSD...both work related...I'm ex Fire Service.. and I wish to know whether my position will be compromised, if my Mother whom I live with, due to my health problems, claims for Pensions Credit and Attendence Allowance. Our solicitor informed me to claim for both for my Mother, whilst her legal matters are being updated to protect her interests ...the DWP are'nt exacly beating a path to pensioners doors telling them they can claim for benefits!...would it be best for someone other than me to submit claim forms for my Mother, who is 81 and just cannot complete paperwork due to infirmity!
I have already avalible the Attendance Allowance guide downloaded from this site, but worry I might compromise my own benefits in completing forms for and on behalf of my Mother, as I have my own needs to be helped and have help from my Union in completeing my claim forms,

Many Thaanks to anyone who can advise :)

Your mother can certainly claim attendance allowance without it affecting your benefits.

Insofar as Pension Credit is concerned, this is not something we deal with within the forum, so you or your mother if she is able will need to contact the Pensions Service for further advice, to ascertain if any claim will impact upon your own benefit entitlement?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
