IB medical put back? was created by stevep
Hi guys, i was recently due to go for a medical at sunderland and i just had a letter yesterday informing me that it has been put back till the 24th due to a mixup.
I went to see my GP last night and asked him about a IB113 form and if he would write a report out for me and he said it would make no difference as the atos medical doctorwould want to see the reports the GP had of me anyway.
Should i make another appointment to see another GP and try and get a report before i go for the medical or should i just do as my GP says.
This is really stressing me out having to wait yet another fortnight, i sleep bad enough as it is.
Kind regards steve

If your GP is sent an IB113 then there is a contractual obligation on him to fill it out.

he said if one was sent, it would have been filled in.
Can't understand why he wouldn't do a report though?
The surgery where i go, you are designated different GP's as the one you normally would see would be full up for the time you wanted so you have to be allocated a different doctor.
Is it because atos will have my records there when i go?
I'm at a loss as to what i should do now, make another appointment or not?

Rather than make a further appointment with your GP, can you speak to your GP's reception staff and ask if they are aware from your medical records, whether form IB113 has been completed and returned to Atos?
In any event, the issue of form IB113 would seem to be discretionary these days as opposed to obligatory, but unfortunately for yourself, Atos it appears are at will to conduct medical assessments in any way they choose. This was primarily because they obtained the contract from the DWP on 27 October 2008 for full responsibility of both the PCA for IB, and the WCA for ESA.
It is unlikely that the Atos disability analyst will have access to your medical records when you attend for your assessment.
