Hi, my partner is receiving the enhanced PIP rate which is granted until March 2029. He was born in August of 1965, i.e. the PIP award is running out abut 1 years before he is 65. Is the DWP likely to ask him to be re-assessed prior to March 2029 or are they likely to extend his award due to nearly having reached his pension age by then? Many thanks
Review forms can be sent out up to a year before the award end date. Technically, he could receive a review form at any time from April 2028.
The State Pension Age is currently 66 but will increase over the next two years to 67. As your partner was born in 1965 he won't reach SPA until 2032, and therefore as it stands at the moment, he is likely to receive the standard review form and have an assessment which could be, telephone, video, face-to-face or paper-based.
