Telephone assessment terminated half way through Advice needed please was created by Elgrand
Hi team during a telephone assessment for a review for pip the assessor half way through a hour and half said I'll stop the assessment there because it's getting to difficult and overwhelming for the client, the assessor spoke to the carer and said please reassure the client I will assist the best way possible to the DWP
The assessment was very in-depth and basicly went over everything that was put on the Ar1 form , What do we make of this situation ?
Will the DWP score points ,we are very confused help greatly appreciated.

Hi Elgrand
If the assessor stopped the assessment because they were concerned about the claimant being overwhelmed - that's good. I wish more of them would do it. They had already been through an hour and a half, which is a long time. Assessors do sometimes stop because it is detrimental to the claimant, and in my experience, it has always resulted in them receiving an award. The papers will be sent back to the DWP about what has happened. As the claimant was on for an hour and a half - no one can accuse them of not participating in the process.
You usually only have to worry if an assessment has been stopped because the assessor has fallen out with the claimant or one of their friends or relatives.
