ONLY 2 points was created by Spike
I have just recived my PIP assesment back and have been given 2 points for incontinence which is the least of my dailt struggles. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and have other health issuse osteomalasia depression anxiety this is not a full list of conditions.
Is it worth the stress of a manditory reconsiderstion?

Dear Spike, short answer, YES!
I will let others give details on tackling MR, enough for now to say, have you called to request your PA4, if it was a phone assessment [or video or F2F] ? If not, please do that ASAP. If refused, try another call. If opening it would stress you out, arrange to be with someone when it comes, to support you.
Looking forward to hearing how you go on,
Denby

Hi Spike
I'm so sorry to hear about your assessment and the disappointing outcome. Have you received the decision letter, or did you ask for a copy of the assessment report (PA4)? If you haven't got the PA4 (which isn't sent automatically) - you can ring the DWP and ask for a copy. It will take 7 - 10 days to arrive. This will give you more idea of why you only scored 2 points. It's impossible for me to say whether you should put in for a mandatory reconsideration - that's something you will have to decide for yourself.
There are plenty of people who have fibromyalgia and have been awarded PIP, and there are plenty of people who have been denied it - same with depression and anxiety. The DWP don't just focus on the condition - they want to know how it affects a claimant's life and/ or mobility. That is why two people with what appear to be identical conditions get different awards because the impact varies, and the DWP are very picky about people meeting the specific PIP criteria as they understand it. I'm not saying you made this error - but you should always assume that the person reading your form has little or no understanding of your condition, so don't expect them to understand what your pain, exhaustion or brain fog is like - because they probably won't. (Also there is a huge element of luck in the process).
If you want to carry on the fight you have one month from the date on the decision letter to put in for your Mandatory Reconsideration. You can look at the Guide to PIP Appeals, which has the MR information. Is it worth your stress? Anyone who has won an MR will say yes, but only you can know what you can tolerate.
If you have any other questions, come back and ask, and we will try to help.
