I receive PIP enhanced rate. I need my sister to help insert suppositories into my back passage every 3 days. I have never applied for carers allowance as someone told me they take the carers allowance off your PIP. Just asking if this is correct. My sister does not want any money but I just wanted to know.

Hi Souter,

No, Carer's Allowance is not deducted from PIP. Here is a link to the BenefitsandWork guide to Carer's Allowance.

From the link click on Guides at the top, then PIP, then PIP Claims and at the end of that section you will find the guide to Carer's Allowance.
