Hi - are we allowed to test out working if in the support group for ESA? There seems mixed information out there? I'm not sure if its ok as along as under the 16 hours a week.
In all my applications for ESA I mentioned still trying to do some easy work occasionally so was not expecting they would put me in the support group
I want to try a few hours every few weeks (of easy work) to see how I get on but don't want to risk losing it if I still require it. I'm not sure I will manage much but would like to keep a toe in the water for my mental health too.
Yes, the DWP do allow you to do some work whilst in receipt of ESA. This is officially called Permitted Work . I include a link here to the form which details the rules regarding Permitted Work. assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/6...eea528/PW1-04-24.pdf
If after reading the form you decide that Permitted Work is right for you, I would advise phoning ESA and informing them and I expect they will post you a Permitted Work form.
Hope this helps, David
