Change of circumstances forced to uc was created by Marvel2017
Good morning everyone,
I'm not sure if anyone can help on here but due to a change of circumstances I'm being forced to claim universal credit.
I spoke to citizens advice who were helpful but didn't really explain how much work was involved.
Is anyone on here familiar with the claims process.
Small background been on esa support group for years, & receive pip.
My partner is now moving in to my property & so we have to make a joint claim. His went smoothly, I could not pass the online I'd check. We both now have a message of 'we will call you ' which makes me very nervous I don't cope well & nor does my partner he has never claimed benefits before & so is full of well I won't speak to them etc...
So if someone can advise what the initial call in tales, it may help.
Many thanks to this great website

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Marvel2017
Thank you for your post, unfortunately we cannot give you much information as we do not have much to go on or all the facts.
We would advise you to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk
We cannot tell you what the call entails as we do not know your circumstances.

If you currently receive income based ESA as a single person you are still allowed to add a partner to your ESA claim as it counts as a change of circs. ( There are a few exceptions ).
You can phone ESA and ask them to post you form ESA3 to do this. It may be possible to download it.
